Foundation/Base

I was recently looking through a forum and looking at a beautiful bride with her bridesmaids. Her dress was stunning as were the girls and the location, but one thing that bothered me was the tone in the girl's skin. All of the girls seemed to have a lot of base on, a flat tone and no fresh, skin looking glow to them.
A good foundation is key to a good make-up. It has to be skin tone correct, it has to look like your skin, but even out blemish or other tones. Now as a makeup artist I have the beauty of a selection of products in my kit. To ensure I get a flawless finish, but natural tone I mix and match a few products with a good long lasting primer for staying power.
When looking in the mirror, foundation should still look like your skin, not a mask.
If the base is applied to thick, wrong colour, no amount of bronzer or blusher will break that up to give a glow. There is nothing better than seeing a polised makeup, that looks like the brides skin is naturally perfect.
